Omar is an experienced and dedicated educator with a passion for helping students achieve their academic goals. His journey as an educator began in 2010. Since then, he has held various positions in tutoring agencies, as an after-school program leader, camp counselor, instructional aide, and currently as an intervention specialist. His extensive background allows him to understand the unique needs of each student and tailor his approach accordingly. With over 12 years of experience in the educational field, Omar has worked with students from kindergarten to 8th grade.
He pursued his passion for child development and education by earning an Associate Degree in Child Development at El Camino College and a bachelor's degree in child development at California State University of Dominguez Hills. This educational foundation equips Omar with a deep understanding of how children think, learn, and behave, enabling him to create engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to each student's individual learning style. Omar tutors students in TK-12th grade.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Omar effectively communicates with students and parents, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. He believes in the power of personalized attention and enjoys witnessing students' growth and increased confidence as they progress academically. With his Spanish fluency, he can tutor students in a dual immersion program and those learning the Spanish language.
Specializing in special education, Omar has extensive experience working with students with diverse needs, including learning disabilities, behavior challenges, emotional issues, autism, and ADHD. He is well-versed in Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and 504 plans, ensuring that each student receives the necessary support and accommodations to thrive academically and socially.
Outside of tutoring, Omar remains active and engaged in various hobbies. He continues to play soccer in an adult league, showcasing his love for the sport. Omar also enjoys playing the piano, drawing, playing video games, photography, and indulging in all things Marvel-related. As a collector, he takes particular delight in collecting Pokémon cards.
