I am passionate about education, beginning my journey in 2014 as a volunteer by helping kindergarteners from first generation Spanish speaking backgrounds with their homework and in-class assignments. I received my Bachelor of Science in environmental biology with a minor in Spanish from Humboldt University. I find that my strong science background is easily applied to other topics and love to use my skill set to engage students who might otherwise not be comfortable with STEM fields. I use my personal experiences to break down challenging subjects and love to see students feel more comfortable with hard sciences and other challenging subjects. I also have experience working with children with autism. I love to tutor students in science and math over Facetime, Zoom or Google Meets. My hobbies include creating art from ethically foraged seaweeds and making presses.
